I see a lot of people on here that are looking for new friends. A good way to make a new friend or a whole group of friends is to get involved.
I found myself back here in Saint Paul, no friends and fresh out of a relationship. I also posted on CL as I was trying every avenue to meet new people in the Twin Cities area.
How have I made friends? It hasnt been from CL, I can tell you that with full honesty. People usually only want texting pals because their loneliness is satiated briefly whenever they decide to text (but eventually fade or flake out). Others that I have managed to stay in some contact with are eventually sexual or express an attraction to me; after I have specifiy stated several times I was never on CL for anything but friendship. Needless to say, I feel too uncomfortable to maintain face to face interaction.
Heres how I managed to expand my social circle. I have tons of fun while doing it too.
I began volunteering at a humane society. You can meet the sweetest people, and youre doing a great thing for !
I began playing rugby, softball and volleyball. I love sports. As a individual, I played basketball, and I was involved in almost every other sport ,at school, in some way. Sports keep you fit, build confidence, and allow you to meet so many interesting people that love good, fun competition. Many teams have beer busts, fundraisers and have team stands during events like the state fair. Its a great way to be social and bond with a diverse group of people. Plus, you meet a whole group of people at once. Its my favorite way to meet new people.
I found a job that allows me to be social with the people I work with. For many years, I worked alone. I was a life-coach for people with autism; working in the clients home(s). I LOVED my job, but at the end of the day when my significant other was making plans with co-workers, I had none to up and ask out for a drink or event. It was something that I wanted to be able to do, so now I make more money and have people from work to make plans with. (I am not telling you to quit your job! lol )
Its understandable that some older women wont be interested in playing rough sports like rugby, but there are so many avenues lonely wife seeking nsa Baxter to making new friends. Avenues that will lead to a safe, "normal" atmosphere where youll have fun, help others, and youll feel great about yourself just from being able to get out of the house a few hours a week to socialize.
These were my choices to make new friends, and Im not saying CL wont work for you or there are nothing but weirdos on CL. Definitely not what I am saying. My post is purely based on my experience. Your experiences may vary.

Im not bashing CL as a method completely, but if youre like me and cant seem to find anyone thats not flaky, sexual or bizarre Im just reminding you all that there are other, faster ways to find the social outlet you might be looking for
Now, Im going to go finish celebrating the 4th. I just wanted to share this with you ladies. I was sitting with some new friends, watching fireworks and was feeling thankful.
